We usually take too many things with us. Do you really need to bring two bottles of shampoo and three types of sunscreen? And your half bookcase? Help! Away from stress, away too much stuff! Go back to basics and take what you really need. We collected 10 tips for packing your suitcase.
1. Always take with you-
A number of things are indispensable for a relaxed holiday. A passport or proof of identity, possibly a visa, money (cash, debit card, credit card) and your travel documents (print your e-ticket or make sure it is on your mobile phone).
In addition to your cell phone with corresponding charging cords, perhaps earplugs, you may also want to have your iPad and sunglasses on hand. Put it in your hand luggage in a safe place and make sure you can reach it easily.
2. Select targeted-
Look carefully at which destination you are traveling, the type of weather on site, how long you are leaving and what you will be doing during your stay. Traveling around with a backpack is different from a cruise or a cycling holiday. Adjust your luggage accordingly. Forget about 'maybe I need it' and then put everything in your luggage, but choose purposefully. Take good basic pieces that you can combine with each other. And remember, unless you travel to a remote place and roam days through no man's land, you can buy almost anything anywhere.
3. Make packing lists-
It is very useful to make a packing list and consciously think about what you really need. You can write a list by hand, but nowadays you can also find online packing lists. Save this list for future vacations too.
4. Pay attention to the weight of the case-
If you buy a new suitcase, choose a not too heavy suitcase model. There are nowadays numerous lightweight cases that are extremely strong. You can get nice trolley bags online If you are thinking to buy a new case.
5. Cosmetics-
Do not bring too many cosmetic products. These take up a lot of space and are heavy. Preferably fill small bottles and buy small packages. You can probably buy larger packages at your destination. Bringing a good bottle of sunscreen from a brand that you know is handy.

6. Books-
A holiday is, of course, part of reading books. But these too are important space eaters. Consider which book should go with the holiday suitcase and buy the paperback version of it. For the rest, use your e-reader or take a magazine with you.
7. Bath and hand towels-
Before you travel, inquire whether you can use bath and hand towels during your stay at the hotel or other accommodation. If this is the case, then leave this luggage at home. If not or if you have booked a holiday where you bring your own towels, choose a medium format (also for on the beach) and roll them up, so they take up less space.
8. Valuables-
Leave really valuable items such as jewelry and jewelry and items you are attached to at home as much as possible. That means less worry and prevents your vacation from falling into the water. And store valuables in a safe or think of a good place where others cannot find it quickly (but you will remember!).
9. Packing ...
Have your suitcase ready a few days in advance.
Collect all items based on the packing list.
Look seriously if you really need all of that and start packing.
Pack smart and ergonomically: roll up clothes, put heavy things at the bottom and lighter items on top of your suitcase.
Put your toiletry bag in a plastic bag in case something should leak.
10. ... and get out!
Pack your bags, take your ticket and get lost in your own world. Forget the work-life and just enjoy the vacations.
